NCTE Achievement Award in Writing

For the last twelve years, at least one SDHS student has won the National Council of Teachers of English Achievement Award in Writing.

The Anneka Awards for Creative Writing

The Anneka Awards recognize the love of writing and the desire to communicate through the written word. The Anneka Awards for Creative Writing are in memory of Anneka McMillan, a member of San Diego High School's Class of '99. Anneka died on June 4, 1998. Open to SDHS students, submissions can be made in Category I: Fiction or Category II: Poetry. Check with the Writing Center for more details.

Alumni Writing Awards

San Diego High's Alumni Association sponsors a yearly writing contest with monetary prizes.
