| SDHS's
Language Immersion program provides instruction in Spanish and French
according to principles of the "natural approach" and the
"communication-based instruction" models.
Instruction
in the target language is used for two academic courses each semester
and provides students with the opportunity to see authentic contexts
and perform tasks on a broad range of topics. As a result, students
function equally well in the target language as they do in English
and/or their first language.
