The
International Baccalaureate (IB) is considered to be the most
challenging and interesting pre-university curriculum in existence
today. Its general objectives are
| |
to
provide students with a balanced education,
to facilitate geographic and cultural mobility, and
to promote international understanding. |
Unlike Advanced Placement courses, the IB curriculum places
emphasis on an integrated rigorous curriculum, training students
to think critically about learning and teaching them to strive
for excellence in all academic areas. Since its founding in
1963, the IB Program has grown dramatically and become an
international symbol of academic integrity and intellectual
promise. Based in Geneva, Switzerland and Cardiff, Wales,
IB brings an international perspective to course study. There
are 1189 member schools in 101 countries throughout the world.
